stuck little butterfly

LI:  to write a story of your own choice.  You need to also decide your own Learning Intentions for this story.  What are some key things you think you need to focus on for this story.  At least 2 things to focus on.  You may write on this document.  Science fiction could be your theme but it is your choice.

My Learning Intentions:

  1. Punctuation

  2. multiple peoples experience on the topic

                                  Stuck Little butterfly

The rose towered above the little butterfly. She flapped her wings and soared into the sky. All the creatures and humans were tiny. 10 cm tall to be precise, but that's how this world was. If you don’t like it then either deal with it. You're not the author, I am, maybe go read something else. Anyway, back on topic. The butterfly was fluttering around minding its merry business, when a horde of wasps flew out from under a peony and swarmed the little butterfly. The wasps were bigger, stronger, and more ferocious than the butterfly and easily overpowered her. When the wasps finally left, the butterfly had a torn wing. She was so high up, She fell onto a peony that was 5 feet from the ground. Then it happened. A boom of magic. Before the butterfly could register what was happening, she was human and on a peony 5 feet in the air with wings too new to fly with. She was stuck.

“You ‘ve got to be kidding me!!!”, yelled Summer. We were looking at the quest board and the only ones left were diamond Magnolias and red Nightshade. They were both in the mystic Meadow which was where the killer wasps and giant bees lived.

“ Well it's the last quest and if we don't want to stay here for the week, we better get going”, I said sighing.

``If we go, we will find something extraordinary,” Luna predicted with a grin. She was a moon elf and could use the moon rays to see the future. Summer was a fire fairy and used the sun's blaring heat to make fire. I was a battle elf meaning I could work weapons to my will. Swords, mace, spears, you name it I control it. Anyway back on topic. We would probably be going on a trip to the Mystic Meadow.

“ Come on, we'd better get packing for a forestry trip”, I said sarcastically.

“ noooooooooo” , groaned Summer. “ i HATE bugs!!!!” .

“ Well either come and deal with it or stay here and not get the money. Your choice”, Luna snapped.

“ Fine i'll come but i don’t have to like it’, Summer said with a flair of sas.

“ We never said you did”, I grumbled.

‘ well if we want to go at dawn, we better get going to pack”, Moon said curtly.” meet me here in 10”

“OK” we replied, and hurried off.

===============================================================================

The butterfly was panicking. It would be dark soon and she was stuck on this stupid peony. She stood up and looked down. Big mistake. Gasping, she fell back from the edge. It was a long way down. She spun around and caught a glimpse of her wings. The breath caught in her throat. They were a burnt orange colour with black rims and white flecks.  She flapped them and tried to fly. It didn’t work. she only hovered for a minute then fell back down. She wasn't strong enough yet. But soon, soon she will be able to fly like a proper butterfly. The stars blinked to life and the moon shone like a beacon in the sky. She lay down under a petal and fell asleep.

sci fi setting description

The path was worn. The blue and gold rocks and pebbles worn down with time, weather, and creatures walking on it. A girl with wings was limping along, huge wings drooping. Her wings are black but of an angels. They looked heavy in the rain. She didn't fly even though the wound on her thigh and hip were leaking silvery - blue blood. It looked painful. The minute she stepped into a clearing, her wings began to glow. Another winged girl stepped into the clearing. Her wings were of butterflies. The colouring orange, black and white peaked out from under a red umbrella. The tip of one poked out from the umbrella and a drop of rain hit it, creating a pebble sized hole. The girl yelped out in pain. The rain is toxic, like every other thing natural on this planet. The yellow water carried disease. The blue trees would give you a severe rash and the pink grass would sting if touched. But that's what happens when two planes merge into one. The planet with all the toxic things is Mercury and Earths clone housed the winglings. This planet is Mearcuear

my introduction: The health of our streams

Introduction:
We are going to go test the health of the streams in our community. The year 7&8 were doing it for the safety of our water-ways. It's just gross, for learning, the seniors wouldn’t, it was cool and why not? How we were going to do it was the main question. Our class had been given a test kit to work with. Since we couldn’t do it today, the excitement was mounting. Let's do this!

sci fi character

The sun shone through the window of my personal music studio. I smiled as I listened to my latest song. It was perfect!!! I debated on what album to put it in, finally settling on my latest smash hits the clock on the wall chimed 10 and my bracelet/watch went off. Time to go to the clinic. I walked outside to the parking lit and found my hover scooter. It was exactly what the name said. It was a scooter that hovered and flew. I pealed out of the parking lot at 50 ks and sped down the road at the speed limit. 100 ks an hour. The highway was busy but not. The clinic, however, was. I raced into my office and hastily shoved my arms in the sleeve of my white coat. The voice of my fellow college crackled over the intercom.

“ veteran Leo can you please come to the baby's ward ASAP!!!”

I ran to the ward at full speed. Your probably wondering” this is a vet clinic not a hospital” and yes it is a vet and yes we call our baby pets babies. Deal with it!! I slammed into the door and the sight on the other side made me sick.

5 hours later, i walked into the restaurant, My chiefs apron and ready to cook. My bracelet chimed with an incoming text. I pressed a specific bead and a hologram shimmer into the air.

“ THE QUEENS CAKE TODAY!!!!” it said in capital letters.

How could I forget?!? I ran into my personal kitchenette and at lightning speed grabbed out ingredients.

“ Do you want some help” a friendly and familiar voice said.

“ Yes please Samona” I said, slowing down to look at her. She had blue skin and big purple eyes. Her hair was pink and wavy.

“ what do you want help with?” she asked looking unsertan. She was new and just the sweetest.

“ can you read the recipe out to me?” I said with a grin.

“ of course” she said looking relieved.

Once the cakes were in the oven, i started on the icing. It was vanilla and caramel dyed gold. Very delicious. Mixing with a whisk was slow but had the best results.

Finally it was finished. Samona was bursting with excitement. Since she helped me with the cake, she got to help me deliver it. Walking up to the VIP area, Samona tript over a stair.

“Im sooo sorry” she said glumly. “ id better go”.

“NO”, i almost yelled.” just cause you fell over doesn't mean you cant help me. We all make mistakes. Hell i tripped over a stair and spilt a pot of soup. No one cared but it didn’t make it not embarrassing”.

“OK”, she said looking braver. “ lets do this”.

taste testing

The world went black as the blindfold went over my eyes. It took a moment to process the panic my mind threatened to free. This was weird and exciting. The bag on the teachers desk was probably full of food of some kind. The crinkle of plastic was a dead giveaway. My suspicions were correct. It was chips. The seasoning bombarded my nose and the familiar feel of crinkle cut chips.
“ Are these chicken flavors?” I asked my partner, Makiera.
“ yep” he answered. “ what is the brand”
“ bluebird”?
“ Correct,” he replied, almost surprised. Almost.
The chips were delicious. Melting in my mouth and the flavor sticking to my fingers. As soon as the teacher said we could take our blindfolds off, I did. My vision was blurry. Everything was brighter than it should have been. The teacher yelled to swap over and come up.  I handed the blindfold to Makiera. I went up to get what my buddy was about to eat. The answer was popcorn. Walking back to my desk, I opened the packet for Makiera. They looked confused for a minute. The look was priceless. I giggled when he mumbled something and said “ i thought it would be chips but what are these?”
“ popcorn” I answered, still giggling. “ What's the flavor and brand?”
“Ummm butter?” he said.
“ correct” i almost yelled.
He looked like he enjoyed it. When the teacher yelled “ you can take off your blindfolds now”, he muttered “ finally” and took it off.
The teacher waffled on but as usual I didn't listen. That was a very good class. Tasty too.

the container race

Hesitantly I lined up behind a container. “ do i gotta do this”? I muttered. The aim of the game was to fill your container the most in one minute. The teacher explained the rules, but i didn’t listen. A familiar pair of butterflies in my stomach were back. When the teacher yelled “ GO”, I grabbed my cup and ran  forward. The bucket was 10 meters away, the water a honey whiskey colour. As I scooped up some water, I saw Charlie race back to his container and deposit his water. I hurried back and did the same thing. This went on for another pressuring 50 seconds that felt like an hour.  When the teacher yelled “STOP”, i let out a sigh of relief. I put my cup in the recycling bin and sat down finally it was over. I sat down and it was the other teams turn. Most of them cheated, but oh well. Walking back to class, my thoughts turned to writing and what i would do. Now i know because you just read it.

get creative

we have been doing get creative and this is what i have done. hope you like it.

describing a setting

As I sat down on the bench, I thought about a particular “friend”. How could they?!?!?! Everyone knew it was mean and embarrassing to tell your old crush you like them. My thoughts were a swirling mass of hate and betrayal. Sighing, I looked out at the field. It was silent, making an exception for the kids in the gym. The trees were dead looking from autumn and all the leaves were on the ground or in the process of doing so. The daisies were white flecks against the forest green field. The birds were chirping with no care in the world and the distant sea-gull skreached and whistled from the air. There was a slight breeze. It twisted and floated like it was a sunny day but it wasn't. The sky was a milky grey that promised rain, puddles, and wet socks. It probably felt the same way as me. The distant hills loomed out of the distance, an inky black colour. The faint hum of tyres from straight highway one. It was here that I realised that I was calm. That this was my happy place.

My review on nail polish

Hi!. My name is Leo. I'm a year 7 at Otaki college on the Kapiti Coast. My review is on a tiny bottle of nail polish. These are the pros and cons on the subject.

Firstly, the usability is horrendous. It chipped easily and quickly. It didn’t dry very well and when it did it was lumpy. Half of it wasn't even there!.

Secondly, it was cheap and tacky and the bottle was as small as half my pinky finger. The colours were terrible! Would you cover your fingernails in mustard yellow or bogger green? No? Yeah, i didn't think so.

Thirdly, the cap would come apart from the brush, making it a nightmare to open and when it did, the brush was stuck together with nail polish( basically it was stuck together with hot pink glue).

So, that is my thought on the matter on the topic of nail polish. The reason I'm probably doing nail polish is because I HATE the stuff!!! It feels so unnatural and bad.I can't stand it!! I don't wear it on my fingers for that exact reason! Anyway, this is my opinion on nail polish.

my thoughts on should socal meidia be alowed to store our personal info?

Hi my name is Leo . I’m 11 and a year 7 at Otaki college on the Kapiti coast. My question is should social media be allowed to store and hold our personal info? The answer is No.

Firstly if apps can get hold of your personal information, they can learn everything about you but they are strangers, also if you say too much it can be used against you. People can get your passwords and sometimes get into your bank account.

Secondly, some sites like Facebook or Instagram save all the photos you post, even the ones you delete. This makes the site untrustworthy with your personal things like your age and address.

Thirdly, on the plus side, the game can set itself up to your age level. Others use your comments or suggestions to make the game or app better.

My final opinion is that No, social media should not be allowed to store our personal info. Yes it might make the app or site beter, but do they all? The true answer is no, not really. Gaming sites like Roblox, save your conversations with other players and tell the big company owners what you like and send ads using that information and think you will click and go by something because you like it. That is my opinion on should social media store our info.

Dear prime minister, Jacinda Ardern.

Dear prime minister, Jacinda Ardern.

Hello, my name is Leo and I go to Otaki college. I live in Otaki on the west coast, near Kapiti Island. I’m writing to you to thank you for being there for us at this time.

Firstly, I want to recognise all the hard work and tough decisions you have made whilst thinking of us all. The stress of all New Zealand on you must have been hard. I think we all recognise the hard work you have put in.

Secondly, your great leadership skills help you stay positive, confident, and open to all questions. You staying calm has helped us all stay calm. You've been a great leader, and I respect all the choices that were made.

Thirdly, I want to thank you for just being there for all of us. Also, you being responsible and a step ahead has helped a lot. If it wasn't for you, New Zealand might look something from Donald Trump's thoughts. I shudder to think what would happen if it weren't for you.

So, I just want to say thank you, for all the things you have done, and what a great leader you are. I recognise all the hard work you have done.

Daily Writing Challenge 2

While i washed my hands with soap to try to get the wet sticky PVA glue off, Pipi stole my homework and dropped potato chip crumbs on it and blew it up into pieces. The explosion was huge and shook the world.

Daily Writing Challenge

As i ran, my muscles were screaming with pain. A plan had been made to run around a lake in Rotorua. It was agony. After, walking felt near impossible and swimming the same. It never crossed anyone's mind after what had happened.
